From Little Fins to Big Wins
/Captain of her swim team, Ms. Peyton heads to State
Ms. Peyton and the Coronado Cougars Swim Team are heading to State in swimming this year! As a young girl, Ms. Peyton started swimming at Little Fins Swim School, where she learned the fundamentals of swim safety and found her passion for water. Little Fins is where she realized her dream of swimming competitively was possibility. “Peyton learned her survival swimming skills first, like all of our beginner swimmers, and quickly moved up to advanced strokes,” says Lauri Armstrong, owner of Little Fins Swim School. She continued to swim throughout the years and always knew that swimming would be a huge part of her life.
Ms. Peyton continued to improve her skills and tried out for her high school swim team. When she became old enough to get a job, she applied and started at Little Fins as an Instructor. Ms. Peyton wanted to do for other children what had been done for her. She knew that she wanted to help other children learn to be safe and to find their passion for swim.
While juggling her senior year studies, theatre, and her work schedule, Ms. Peyton continued to train in and out of the pool with her swim team. Her hard work and dedication has paid off. She qualified for State, again this year!
We are so proud of her and will be here cheering Ms. Peyton and her team on as they head to Thornton, CO on February 7th and 8th. She will be representing her team as Captain, and we will be cheering her on as they swim for victory at the state games. She is a great example of how determination and dedication pay off. Ms. Peyton demonstrates that even on the hard days, you have to show up and work hard. Not all days are easy. She shows that it's ok to embrace the struggle, find your passion, and dive in headfirst into challenges.
Go, Peyton, Go! The Little Fins family is cheering you on!
